In 2019, Sara earned her B.A. in Sociology, with a focus on environmental justice, at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. After four years of working in the sexual violence field and getting her M.A. in Restorative Justice, she is excited to use all of the wisdom she has gleaned and apply it to New Roots Institute. Sara sees the injustices of factory farming as deeply intertwined with all other injustices in the world. She is drawn to this work because she sees a need to shift our culture - one that creates an environment where violence against animals, the earth, and other humans is normalized. She is energized by empowering folks to be a part of the change for a better world. Outside of work, Sara finds joy in the myriad opportunities life has to offer - hiking, camping, cooking, gardening, rollerskating, snowboarding - you name it! She resides in Portland, Oregon with her dog, Buck, and cat, Hunni.
